The drive to The Tip was pretty rugged. I think its around 19km. The road is full of corrugations and is very very narrow. Important to take it easy. We made it to the Croc Tent, prob. half way, where you get a map of the area, and a report on the road conditions. Plus of course, to buy souvenirs of your trip. We grabbed ourselves a tank top each, declaring we had made it all the way to the Tip. Plus I got a pair of earrings I have been searching for since I bought the same pair in Esperance in 2011 and then lost one of them. Twice the price but still at $10 I was happy.
It is actually a really lovely drive, thru lots of rainforest areas which were stunning. Loved the drive. Once you get to the carpark, you then have the choice, if the tide is out, to walk around the beach and then climb to the tip or climb up over rocks, following a vague sandy track. Its probably about a 10-15 minute walk either way. We climbed up and over the rocks and then returned along the beach as the tide was out bigtime. Every one comes for the sign. Take a photo, drink a toast, relax and take in the view and then your done.
