We spent 4 days at the Cape, taking in all that there was to see and we werent looking forward to the return trip. Dust and more Dust. BUT we were looking forward to seeing the Big Red Bus and our nice comfy bed, !!!!!!!!!
We stopped at Edith Falls for a break. We found the road was still rugged in spots, but Rick felt comfortable enough with the conditions to let me drive. I found it challenging in spots but overall it was a good experience for me. A one night stopover at one of the roadhouses along the way was our last night in our tent YAY. A return to Lakelands Caravan Park and all we did was scrub ourselves, our clothes and our Suzi. The trip just a memory now. We were so happy to have done it. Rick handled it really well. We arent made for camping, but we didnt do without anything. When we eventually left Lakelands to head back down to Mareeba in the bus, I actually felt a little envious of those that passed us that were heading up to the Tip. Dont know why? Dumb Im sure. Memories of all that dust should be foremost in my mind.
