Junee to Tenterfield.

Camped out at a free camp across from a small pub, had a couple of drinks by the fire, the boys played pool and then it was time to plan the next day.    Headed to Cootamundra, freezing and miserable.    At our next Campspot we woke to thick fog and it didnt lift for hours.    It looked like we were travelling thru some pretty countryside but it was hard to tell.   Didnt even bother to stop at any of the small towns we passed as the weather was against us.   They can all wait for "next time".     I then came down to a 48hr. bug which saw me, feeling pretty much washed out.    Shivering with cold,. no matter how many layers I had on, and nauseous continually.   Yep I was ready to pack it in and go home.   No photos, no interest in anything.   Just didnt care.   Day 5 I came good and felt fantastic.   Thanks to some meds.

We decided that we had lingered too long and needed a) to get somewhere warm and b) get to the Gold Coast by Thursday.    So we gave up the small towns and hit the Highway.    Travelled thru Armidale/Glen Innes which was very pretty.   Trying to make up some kms.and time, we decided to put in a hard days travel and get to Tenterfield before dark.    Well, it was dusk, spotted the Camp turnoff, turned in and thought bloody hell, where are we.  Yep, in our haste and state of tiredness we had turned up a rugged 4wd track to someones farm.   Couldnt turn back, surrounded by bush, so had to head up over a hill until we could safely and tightly turn around.,    The farmers wife came down in her 4WD to tell us, we werent the first to make the mistake, she has had caravans/motorhomes and semis make the same mistake.   Thanks to the Council and the placement of the Camp Turnoff Sign.    By the time we negotiated our way out it was pitch black.   The camp spot was 400M up the road and we didnt give a toss.   Drove straight on to Tenterfield and parked in the Bowling Club carpark (free camp).   Decided we were traumatised enough.  Bought dinner and drinks at the Club. Could laugh about it by then.
Slept like the dead that night.   Ros and Tony have  Tenterfield Terrier called Edwina.   Hoped to pick up a souvenir from the Info Centre but they had nothing suitable.   Took a pic instead.
